The Vertical Family Tree of LUKAS JAMES OTTO SODEN, born 1997 in Dublin goes back to James Shoden, Behy , Cavan, Ireland [1761] James Shoden 1761 is connected to 1 of 3 families in the townland. I hope in time DNA will definitively prove the connection between James Shoden’s family and the other three.
The second vertical tree is for Lukas’ mother’s family , the Hoefers of Dorfmark, Lower Saxony which goes back to 1667.
The fine collateral tree has been prepared by Moritz von Soden of Bresahn, Schleswig Holstein and I present here as a fine example of a comprehensive family tree. I re-iterate I have found no direct link between the Irish Sodens and the German Sode/von Soden families. There may well be a link between the English and the Germans, and there is almost certainly a link between the German and American families, a very interesting challenge for the future.
The photograph and the postcards courtesy of Rachel Wyatt, Cabinteely, Dublin are of the Tormey family who were married to the Virginia Sodens and related to the Kellett family of Virginia, Co.Cavan
