With the Tudor Reformation of Henry VIII the Soden family seems to have been deeply effected by this seismic occurrence. the family went many directions. As I see it some , in particular those families in the Rowington area remained in the Roman Catholic Church. Other families in particular those of Thomas born 1594 and Robert, born 1591, followed the official Church of England. Some joined Methodism at a later stage and others , in particular, those in the Sibford area turned to Quakerism.
